The Ultimate NFL Match Up (Old vs. Young)

The Ultimate NFL Match Up (Old vs. Young)

Super Bowl 55 brings us the ultimate match up of teams as well as quarterbacks. The Kansas City Chiefs will defend there NFL title against The Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Chiefs, winners of Super Bowl 54, are lead by young star quarterback Pat Mahomes. The Bucs captain is Tom Brady, Brady has won 6 Super Bowls in the last 20 years.

You can get all the numbers and stats from tons of websites and bogs on the web so there is no need for that here. This is just my personal take on the up coming game.

All the hype, all the publicity going to the field generals, I go with the old saying... Defense wins Championship. And since both quarterbacks have proven themselves in this big game before, a defense needs to step up. Both defenses have played well in the playoffs but I give the edge to Tampa. Mistakes shine bright in big games, turnovers that lead to points will be the story of the day. With the two offenses having big scoring power special teams could play a factor. Missed field goals happen, but on a Sunday like this, some misses last forever. (Ask Scott Norwood) A high scoring shoot out seems to favor the Chiefs so Tampa would like to keep the score under 30. I think the Bucs will do that with a 27-24 win, giving Tom Brady his 7th Super Bowl Ring. Tom calls it quits after the victory. Proving it was him who won those Super Bowls in New England not the coach. Sorry Bill...

The 49'ers win the toss. They take the first possession down the field and score on a 20 yard TD pass to Deebo Samuel. The Chiefs first drive stopped with a big defensive play by Nick Bosa, K.C. settles for a field goal to make the score 7-3 49'ers lead.
The second time the Niners get the ball they move it well but a dropped pass forces them to settle for a field goal. At the end of the first quarter San Francisco leads 10-3.
Teams exchange punts back and forth in the second quarter. Niners make the mistake of punting to Tyreek Hill. Hill takes one the distance of 65 yards tying the score at 10-10.
San Francisco is able to move the ball quickly down the field leading to a Raheem Mostert touchdown from 10 yards. Putting the Niners ahead 17-10. Kansas City gets the ball with 2 minutes to go in the first half and trying for extra yards Sammy Watkins fumbles the ball near mid-field. San Francisco gets a quick pass to George Kittle and sets up a field goal of 45 yards. Halftime San Francisco 20 Kansas City 10.
The Chiefs take the ball right down the field, capped of by touchdown pass from Pat MaHomes to Travis Kelce. Kansas City cuts the 49'ers lead to 3 at 20-17. San Francisco then strikes back with a long drive and another touchdown pass from Jimmy Garoppolo to Deebo Samuel making the score 27-17.
Midway through the third quarter and Nick Bosa makes another big play forcing Mahomes to fumble and Niners recover in K.C. territory. The Chiefs defense the makes a stand and holds San Fran. to a field goal making the score 30 to 17 San Francisco at the end of the third quarter.
Pat Mahomes comes up big with a touchdown strike to Tyreek Hill pulling the Chiefs within one score at 30-24. The Niners strike back with a third field goal from Robbie Gould making score 33-24. The Chiefs are not done yet, another quick TD pass from Mahomes, this time to Sammy Watkins but the point after attempt is no good. Score is 33-30 when San Francisco commits it's first and only turnover of the game with just 5 minutes to play. Pat Mahomes then leads the Chiefs into scoring range and the Cheifs tie the game with a field goal by Harrison Butker 33-33.
